Job Title West Lothian Jobs Fund Trainee Catering Assistant (Term Time)
Service & Location West Lothian Council
Hours/Days of Work 16 hours days and shift pattern to be confirmed normally 10-2 Monday to Thursday if based in School
Rate of Pay WLJF Trainee Rate (6 Month Fixed Term Contract) £13.45 per hour to commence in August
Purpose of the job
As a Trainee Catering assistant, you will learn in conjunction with and under direction from Supervisor/Assistant Cook will undertake food preparation, simple cooking, serving and clearing of food.
Job Scope
To learn to work in FM Services proving a catering service throughout the West Lothian area.
Principal Accountabilities/Key Tasks
•Assist as part of a team food preparation, simple cooking, serving and clearing of food.
• Assist with preparation of meals to be transported.
• The use of electrical equipment.
• Learn and follow the cleaning routine determined by supervisor
• Learn how to set up and clearing of Dining Areas.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge
Previous catering experience preferred but not essential.
R.E.H.I.S. Elementary certificate required
